ok..if Salty's is closed and moving somewhere else. What about
Bikini Beach.. Is it going away like everything else.. My husband
and I come there every year from Huntsville, Al. In August 04 we
stayed at Chateau and they told us in 2 years they wont be there
anymore.. We can not afford a condo. I know that Mircle Strip
is gone now which stinks.. I always like going there to see the show
on the weekends...

Just wait til all the new condo's are built and all of the sewers back up because the lame brain developers and their greed didn't plan for the expansion.

 In spite of all the new building...PCB is going downhill fast!
Guess the generations of "Middle Class" families are no longer welcomed by the City Council & Condo Owners.
They are going to build and price the Middle Class vacationers out of PCB.
Oh well, there are other beach towns who will welcome us and be more than happy to let us spend our hard earned dollars there!
I admit that I am sad to see PCB go and turn itself into "Condo Beach" but you dont' have to shut a door in my face for me to know when my family is not wanted or welcomed.
I figure there will be perhaps one and maybe (and I do mean maybe) two more vacations in PCB and then we will just start looking toward the eastern part of the Panhandle for places to spend our Vacation...and money. 8)

And those beach towns are where? It only takes a drive from Orange Beach Alabama to the big bend area of Florida to see that the condo boom is everywhere. Its just that PCB is one of the last ones to see the growth and its more evident since alot of PCB was of an older resort type.

You just can't stop the influx of big money coming in and changing things. This capitalist society is all about the almighty dollar. If I can afford to stay at one of the cheaper codos in the future I just hope the snow white sand and beautiful golf water is still the same.

I hope PCB can still renew my soul with the feeling that yes there is something greater than I.

The beach does that for me.

If you look in the paper the prices for property in Mexico Beach has gone out of site. If you want to see it hurry because Mexico Beach is going fast.
