Does anyone remember a clear freshwater spring fed lake or pond somewhere north of PC.
It had a sign when you walked up that said something like 102 divers have lost their lives here will you be next.

I dove there in the late 70's and i am wanting to visit old familiar places.

thanks.

Dave,
Let me tell you first and foremost that I am not in any way shape or form a diver but, I am a computer geek and I think I may have found your lake. It's called Ginnie Springs in High Springs, FL which is east of Panama City. Apparently the lake has some underwater caves with a sign that reads, "At least 27 divers have lost their lives here". According to the information I gathered, Ginnie Springs is a second magnitude spring which boils out 29 million gallons of water a day. Hope this is what you were looking for, if so, be safe and God speed.

There is a spring up towards De Funiak (I-10) called Vortec Springs and of all local fresh water springs it probably has the highest diver mortality rate.
It has caves,etc.

You are probably thinking of Morrison Springs or Vortex, I have been in both of those as well as Cypress Springs. Cypress is closed now.
