View Full Version : How provocative at Halloween party?

Just wondering how provocative you can dress at the Halloween party at Schooners? I have a really cool outfit, but it is kind of like see through and I don't want to offend anyone there, so let me know what they allow and don't allow.
thanks

Are you trying to say that the more you expose the more scary you'll be  sorry, just had to build on your post

If your bits and pieces are showing, they won't let you in at the front door!

If you are that picky, then I guess I will take my friends and go to the Swamp in Destin. They are a little less conservative than Schooners I guess. Sorry to bother you all

No bother.... Good luck at the Swamp! Show 'em what you got

I found a link to this forum while searching for a place for me and my friends to party this Halloween. I just finished reading your reply to the girl with the see-thru halloween costume. Half my life I spent in Philly, the other half in Tampa. I have never seen attitudes so conservative in my life! Are you sure you're not Amish? Guess we'll be partying elsewhere!

We're not conservative for a restaurant/beach club... I think you have us confused with some 'adult entertainment' clubs down the road! The employees have lots of costumes that are see-through.

Sounds like the operative word here is 'employees'. What about guests? Are the employees allowed to dress more provacatively than the guests? And if so, why not just lighten up a little and let the guests dress how they want and have a good time? I don't think that's asking too much. If you do, then how about just once or twice a year, like on halloween and maybe New Years. Is a little see-thru T&A action really that offensive? I find it to be quite exciting.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I don't even know you. I am just trying to find somewhere while I'm here where I can have some fun on Halloween like I'm used to. I mean we get thousands of people along with droves of nearly naked (and sometimes fully naked) girls in the streets in Tampa on Halloween night every year - it's called the Guavaween party and it's really big... No, I'm not expecting anything like that, but I am pulling my hair here just to find a club that even allows see-thru costumes. I feel like I'm in Mayberry

Sorry, should have made myself clear... the employees I was referring to are the employees at the Adult Entertainment clubs not Schooners.

I will check around for you if you like and see if there are any Halloween parties that allow see through costumes in this area.

I have found the club called Nightown and the Swamp to be more liberal when it comes to what they allow to be worn at their clubs, especially at Halloween and New Years. Just for your information.

Francesca, thanks for your patience, positive attitude and offer to help. And Joddie, thanks for the info. We may wind up at one of those or we may wind up at a place in Dothan, I'm not sure yet. I hope wherever you go you knock em dead with your outfit. Somehow I feel certain you will!

I feel Schooners has every right to determine an acceptable level of dress, or lack thereof. I personally would have no trouble with a see through costume (well, as long as it isn't me wearing it...I think there is a local ordinance specifically against ME doing so...LOL), but you have to understand that Schooners is a rather family oriented establishment.

To Francesca: Since we are discussing Halloween, I may just show up with my camera, if I can get in the door. I'd love to get some photos of costumes if you will post them. give me a call!

Good for Schooners! Just cuz some want to "strut their stuff" doesn't mean some of us wanna see it. There's plenty of places to go that would love your adverstising.

I mean, isn't it bad enough that people put their size large bodies into size small bikinis and walk the beach? Yeesh....hurts my eyes.

There's a big difference between cute and tactful and cheap and tacky. Why not leave something to the imagination rather than showing it all? Isn't that half the allure?

And by the way....how about stopping the Schooner's bashing???? If you don't like the place, don't go there. It's their place - their rules. I happen to think it's one of the best and make sure I visit when I come down once a year from Michigan. I regularly view the cams and probably wouln't make it through the year without them.
