We're back from a terrific week in PCB. The first part was a little chilly, but all in all a good week.
First off, let me say that Schooner's has been our favorite for several years now, but we have never been there in November. I can understand that on a Tuesday night in Nov. it would be dead in there, but we were disappointed in the scaled back menu as well. Not much to choose from & the food we got was just ok, nothing to rave about. Originally, we were going to go there again for lunch on Friday, but decided against it.
We'll see you again when it's warmer!

Hi Mrs Peel,
Sorry that you were dissapointed in Schooners menu. What items in particular were you wanting to try. We have added a $5.95 winter lunch menu that has added about 11 more choices to our regular menu, so I am sorry that we lost the opportunity to have you back for lunch! If you don't mind me asking, what did you order for dinner and what did you not like about it?
Many thanks,
Francesca

wow, added Items to the previous sounds like more to choose from!
I just got through looking at the cams and it is sad down there in Winter, but, ya'll may like it like that, without all us tourist 8) , but, I have to say, even in winter I'd rather be there than in Atlanta! See you all next year and have a Merry Christmas Schooners!

My husband and I were down this past weekend also. Great weather! I have never been down this late in the year and I am sure we just got really lucky with the weather. I didn't get to try the new lunch menu because we love the burgers but the people at the next table did order from it and really seemed to like it. Schooners is always the best place to go for lunch at that end of the beach and in the spring and summer we always head down to watch the sunset and listen to the bands. We'll always be in there as long as the doors are open.

The funny thing is I wanted to go there for lunch instead of dinner; oh well! Off the top of my head, I know we were both wanting oysters (an appetizer for him, oyster dinner for me) & something else that escapes me now, but was missing from the menu. He got the grouper basket & a salad which was basically very white looking iceberg & a tomato wedge. I got the house salad with grilled tuna on top & my salad looked pretty much the same. We chalked it up to it must be hard to get decent produce this time of year. Grouper was good if rather small; tuna was over-cooked (I'd asked for medium rare) but the greek dressing was very good!
We love Schooners, so maybe part of this is due to over-anticipation.
We'll definitely be back!
