Oh, my! The water looks absolutely beautiful today! Have only been back from the beach a little over a week, and already needing a fix! Thank goodness for the Cams! All of you heading down soon, have a great trip and know that there will be plenty of us thinking about you.

BTW, if any of you stop in Cottondale for "goodies" . . . the place next to the Shell (?) station on the left at the main light (as you're heading south) apparently is now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for off-season. We totally missed it going down AND coming back!

I am with you. I have been back a month and I have beach withdrawals on a daily basis. I check out the cams on a daily basis and dream of when I get to go back... next August can't come soon enough. Still trying to figure out how to get a trip in before that.

I understand how y'all feel. Looks like it will be Memorial Day before we get back down there.

Yep . . . it's gonna be a long, cold winter (even in ATL). But I'll be PCB Dreaming the whole time. gagirl I hope you get to make it down before Memorial Day. You're close enough that you could make it down for a weekend, couldn't you? It's hard for us to plan a 3-day weekend with a 6-hour drive down and back. Just doesn't justify it, especially now with gas prices, etc.

If I had a 6 hr drive I would do a 3 day weekend to PCB in a heart beat. But that is just me.
We do 3 trips a year to Gatlinburg because it is only 6.5 hrs... I would much rather have a couple of those trips to PCB for a beach fix.

Sweet2. I live in Knoxville and it takes me about 30 mins to get to Gatlinburg. We were up there Friday. I wished it only took me 30 mins to get to Panama City!

Amen...Mine is 12 hours and I'm working on increasing the trip to twice a year.

BTW where's Midnight :?:

dealer....it takes us 10.5 hours, and that is over the speed limit and limited to gas stops only. Unless we are on the bike and then we split the day, leave mid-day and go till dark, which puts us into AL and then the rest of the way the next day.

Haven't heard from Midnight in a while......

We closed on a house on Lake Blackshear the Friday before Labor Day, so all our weekends are now spent at the lake. We will probably only be making 1 beach trip a year now.....Memorial Day weekend.

Been back a week now. Man, I miss the beach. Really hated going back to work. All in all I was off for three weeks. If I could cut the 15 hour drive down to an even 10, I would go 3 times a year. Oh Well! There's always next year. Just haveto keep happy by watching the cams.

Takes me about 12 hours. I've been down three times in the last year. I came down Labor day weekend when Gustav was offshore. Went to the beach for about 1 1/2 hours and headed back home to beat the storm. It was all worth it too. I'd come down Thanksgiving weekend except I want to save a little money for a longer stay In early '09.

Need to find a place to rent month to month this spring so, I can move back to PCB when the opportunity arises.
