Hey - we've never claimed to be fine dining at Schooners... but, we're a mighty fine place to dine on Mother's Day this year, cos we are picking up the tab for MOM (tables of 4 or more - Mom eats FREE). Chef Jeff put together a special menu for the day, but Mom can pick anything she wants off the regular menu. We wash the dishes, too!

Anyway, we've never really done a Mother's Day thing before, and we don't know why. We all love our Moms, and we thought it would be big fun to invite ya'll to the beach for a change! Take a look at the menu Jeff just gave me:

GRILLED ASPARAGUS......................................... .................................$5.95
TOSSED IN A LEMON PARMESAN VINNAIGRETTE, AND TOPPED WITH SHAVED PARMESAN CHEESE

PETIT FILET MIGNON............................................ ............................$15.95
CHAR GRILLED AND SERVED WITH GARLIC MASHED POATOES, FRESH GREEN BEANS AND A PINOT NOIR DEMI GLACE

STUFFED RED SNAPPER........................................... ............................$16.95
STUFFED WITH BLUE CRAB MEAT, TOPPED WITH CHAMPAGNE LEMON BUTTER, AND SERVED WITH A SQUASH, ZUCHINNI AND ONION SAUTÉ

CHEF JEFF’S FAMOUS CHERRIES JUBILEE.......................................$6.9 5
PREPARED TABLE SIDE BY THE MASTER, FLAMBEED THE CLASSIC WAY AND SERVED WITH VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM AND GIRARDELLI CHOCOLATE BROWNIE

That stuffed red snapper sounds just about right! Too bad we'd only have a table of 3 if we ended up there next weekend. Oh well...lots to be said for having an only child!

I'll be there for Mother's day but won't have any children til Monday. I know we'll eat there for lunch while we are waiting for everyone else to get there. Will you be serving this all day or just dinnertime? I agree the Snapper sounds yummy but shellfish allergies mean I don't get to eat alot of these wonderful sounding creations. But I would love to try the asparagus and the cherries jubilee!!

Toni...that sounds delicious, wish I could be there.

Lstyle, I was the only child for a decade and then was blessed with two sisters.

Kudos to Chef Mike for writing this menu, I do believe the plan is to have this menu available all day....most of y'all seem to like to have dinner early on Mothers Day, and Sundays as a rule down here in the South. (I'm a transplant myself. Southern by choice!) At any rate, I'm sure we'll both be there all day, and I'll be happy to make you some dessert whatever time you choose to eat. I'm locally famous for my bananas Foster during Cajunfest, I hope to do this cherries classic justice as well. hope to see you sunday!

We'll be there everyday! At least to quench our thirst when we are out for our daily stroll but I will be requesting to dine there at some point on Mother's day.

Thanks!

I have decided that I will be there. I'm thinking the red snapper sounds pretty darn good. Mother's Day... lunch sounds like a plan.
