Salty's

Pardon me for asking about another PCB establishment, but I knew of no where else to inquire......

Can anyone tell me what has happend to Salty's..... I went by there the other day on a recent visit and it was closed, the signs were taken down, and there were "no-tresspassing" signs up.

Are they remodeling.....closed for good ???? Just wondering.

I heard they were closing - actually, moving to a different location, but I thought that was a long way off... I'm not sure, but we'll look into it and let you know...

Saltys is moving to a location somewhere on Thomas dr.
The old location is going to have yet another condominium complex built on it.
PCB is ever changing. (and not always for the better)

The sale of many of the old great hang outs have been rumored.
(including Schooners) Though as of now it is still a rumor.
Lets hope it stays that way.

Our 'researchers' on the ground tell us that Salty's is definitely not reopening in the same location. They might reopen in an alternative location, but we have not been able to confirm that....!?

Let's hope so, they are just flat cool.

Salty's old location will be missed -- many happy afternoons were spent breathing in the warm Gulf breeze, seeing the pelicans glide by & enjoying a cool beverage (our nights are ALWAYS spent at Schooners). Any new news about their next location? and when when WHEN will the darn condo building stop? My brother is working hurricane relief at Sanibel for FEMA & he told me last weekend that he can hardly recognize PCB because there has been so much building going on.

this brings me to my #1 question: should I continue striving to reach my goal of a starving artist's life in PCB OR have the Corporates taken over & ruined it for us "commoners" ?

Salty's closed 9/25/04. I made the trip to say goodbye to 18 years of memories. Allen and Cheryl own a parcel of land on Thomas drive at the intersection that takes you to Baypoint. He said they plan on taking a year off to rest. His plans at that time were to open a place similiar to Ms. Newby's.

Has Salty's reopened anywhere yet? I live in KY and haven't been to PCB since 2002, but Salty's was a regular favorite of ours when we used to go annually. I had tried their phone number and Web site to no avail, and finally found this forum. Not sure if anyone will read this post since the one I'm responding to is over a year old. If anyone down there in PCB has any info on Salty's, please let me know. We were planning to stay at the Edgewater this year just to be near Salty's! But if it's moved to Thomas Dr., I might be rethinking our location. Thanks!

Don't we all miss Salty's SOOO much??!! Not that Schooner's isn't great, but Salty's was our regular "Local" hangout. I was actually looking on this website, as well, to see if anyone had any information about their new location. When I was on the Front Bch Rd the other day, I noticed the Salty's sign where "Joey's" used to be, about four buildings down from the old Salty's, but across the road...across from Majestic Towers, one of the MANY new condos on the beach. There's actually a catwalk over the road, there. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this. It looked as though they had moved all the signage to this location. I know Alan said he was going to rebuild on Thomas Drive, eventually. But, with construction backed up so much in PC, right now, I thought maybe he opted to go another route until then. We'll keep our fingers crossed!! Hope to see you there!
