Destin/Fort Walton Beach Web Cameras

I love the Schooner web cameras but was wondering if anyone was aware of other similar web camera offerings in either Destin or Okaloosa Island/Fort Walton beach?

Appreciate the assistance.

Nothing beats the webcams at Schooners. I wish they would get the beach cam and the sunset cannon cam back on!

i live in missouri and love panama but haven't made it down there in 2 years so i have to rely on looking at the webcams till i get back!!!

Thanks for the additional links. It appears those two sites update every few minutes but nothing "live". Appreciate the assistance, though. I also live in MO and just got back from PCB a few weeks ago.

The live cams at Schooners are certainly the best. However, I found out that there is actually a delay of several minutes on the streaming video. While we were there the beginning of the month I called one of my friends here in Jackson and had him log into the web site and pull up the cam. I was standing there waiving (like the beach idiot that I am) and he could not see me. After a minute or two he saw me walk up.

Anyway, he had called me from the beach in Destin a month earlier and left me a message on my cell phone that was nothing but the sound of the waves in the background. Needless to say, I got him back!

When Hurricaine Dennis was coming in we watched the water rising and coming all the way up to the fence in the foreground. That was really spooky especially after being there and seeing how wide the beach really is.

My favorite way to look at the beach cam is with another window open to http://www.destinvacation.com. It has some brief music at the beginning then only the sound of the waves. With the beach cam at full screen and the sound of the waves in the background it makes for a pretty good vacation at the old computer!

You're correct. I did a similar experiment a few weeks ago when I was at Schooners. At that time the delay was 42 seconds. Pretty wild stuff. Anyway, thank you for the destin wave site. I use to do the same thing with the wave music and full screen schooner cam. Not sure if the music portion is down today, 8/24, or if the new site isn't offering the wave intro anymore. Let me know if it still works for you.
