    Default @#$^%& Doctor

Went for the first x ray since the surgery yesterday and we got to count the screws and plates together since the doc lost count while doing it. Two plates and fifteen screws and I do set off metal detectors. Set the one off at the courthouse yesterday. He told me early on that I would be on crutches for six weeks but yesterday he extended that for another four. Dang it!!! Got to lose the black air boot and go back to shoes but the foot looks like a balloon next to the good leg. He told me no weight on the leg so I told him I guess I shouldn't mention that I'd been walking without crutches for almost a week. So the wife has me back on the crutches and everytime she looks the other way, I lose one or both and forget where I put them.

Anyway, the x ray of the tibia showed no fracture line at all and the fibia showed a little misalignment but he said that was normal and acceptable.

@#$%^* non-compliant patient! You've got to keep off that foot if you want to continue to heal properly! I'll bet your wife has her hands full with you, naughty boy!

Have been called worse and by my own wife. I start physical therapy Thursday morning and I've yet to hear anyone rave on how fun that is.

Keep off the leg unless you are trying to be an official pirate with a peg leg. You'll do more damage in the long run.

Do I sound like your wife? How about now, "You're sleeping on the couch tonight."

Don't know about physical therapy for a foot, but when my knee blew out, physical therapy actually made it feel better & more flexible almost immediately. Hopefully, it will do the same for you. We're all rootin' for ya!

Oh, behave! If that foot doesn't heal, you and Sweetie Pie won't be able to come out with the Hubster and I next month! Looking forward to some good company, so don't blow it.

I'm terrible about obeying Dr's orders, but when it comes to a broken bone, well, I'd listen.

    Default Naughty boy!!

    CaptKen,
OK, butt-head (oh, I'm sorry, that's my husband's name) . My husband has had 10 surgeries; 9 on one knee and 1 total knee on the other. After one of those nine procedures back in the 70s, he ignored doctor's orders and ended up back in surgery within the year!! He's been a good boy since then, and he went almost 25 years between surgeries. Once a joint is damaged, it doesn't get better with age or wear. Now, you be good, CaptKen. Don't make me come out there and take sides with your poor wife. (Ooooo. Never mind. Be BAD, so I can have an excuse to visit wonderful PCB in the fall.)
Y'all watch out for that almost tropical storm spinning around out there!!!

Yep, we be getting those warm tropical breezes with bouts of heavy rain. In other words, its frapping storming its butt off.

Went to physical therapy yesterday for evalutation. Don't know if they are going to be able to do anything at this time being the doc still has me with no load bearing. Got full range of motion and due to me cheating, the muscle tone isn't as bad as he expected. Can't really do much more until I can offically put weight on the leg.

Just take your time with it. Dad didn't and now has 3 more weeks off work. (Not that he's broke up about that!) But he only broke on small bone in one spot. Not like your multiple fractures.

How bad is the storm? Looks like it's heading straight for us.
