I don't know if something has been posted about this, and if it has you may whoop me with a wet noodle! My husband and I would like to come down, he's never been and I haven't been in 8 years and we were wondering if anyone had some advice on where to stay.Nothing too pricey, just wanted to see what reccomendations locals and regulars have.I've been to Expedia, and Hotels.com but I trust those that REALLY know the area! Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums!! We always stay at the Mariner West on Thomas Drive. It isn't a high rise, only 6 stories high. It is right on the beach. We have never had any complaints and we've been staying there for the past 8 years. Here is their website. http://www.marinerwest.com/
I can't be "Little Miss Sunshine" all of the time.

We have enjoyed Regency Towers and Long Beach Resort. They're older, but pretty well kept. Look at http://www.vrbo.com for good deals!

The Palmetto. Over 40 years of vacations there. Family oriented, family owned, clean and newly remodeled, you won't get lost in it. I believe it's 8 floors. Reasonable rates, west end of the beach away from alot of the undesirables. Website: http://palmettomotel.com/

    Hey,

We have been staying at the Moonspinner or years. This also is not a high rise (8 stories) and is the last place before St. Andrews Park. Pretty quite and beautiful views.

We always stay at the Dunes of Panama. It's a nice walk down the beach to Schooners. We do it twice a day when we're there. They have a nice pool and snack shop. We've bee going there for about 8 years now. It's away from all the traffic but close to whatever you want to do.

We love staying on the Thomas Drive section of PC Beach. It's close to everything we love. (including schooners!) We stay at Dunes of Panama when we stay on Thomas Drive and we love it. It's not too pricey. There are 4 or 5 different buildings, but plenty of pools and space for everyone.

This year we are trying something new and staying at the Calypso on Front beach road. We will still spend most of our time on Thomas Drive though!!

Thank all of you soooo much for the info! When I was in high school,my family would stay in our camper at Magnolia Campground on Thomas Drive, cheap and all the comforts of home.I don't really "care" where we stay cause we will be at the beach ALL day, WOO HOO!!!! and then out and about at night.Just need a place to rest my head and a shower, cause let's face it, I love the sand, just not in all of my crevices! Geez, I LOVE this forum! Can't wait to get down there!
