    Default Kind of disappointed

We came down to PCB on Springbreak the last week of March/first of April. Weather was good (especially after the lingering winter in Indy). We stayed at Emerald Beach and the staff were very rude and unpolite. During the week -----Went fishing (caught 10 speckled trout all to little to keep), went to Schooner's (grouper was undercooked), Boatyard was PACKED and had a 2hr wait----left and went to Boar's head (GREAT FOOD!). Went to Alvin's (owned by foreignor's who are very pushy and barely speak english). Went to Shuckum's and spent over $100 for 2 adult meals (grouper sandwiches) 2 Beers, 6 oysters, and 2 kids meals.WOW!!!(lost my business) Went to Pier Park...... RonJon ($25 tshirts) and Margaritaville (basically the same as Cheeseburger in Paradise here in Indy---TOURIST TRAP-another $100 meal--not impressed). Drove down to Destin to the outlets.... always good time. Went to Sonny's BBQ----very good!
All in all it was an OK time.....I love the white sand beaches.....the sunsets with a wine glass in my hand and my family's reaction to the beach after a long winter.........

You just have to remember that all vacation hot spots have tourist traps. PCB is no different. I don't care for Alvin's Island myself. Went there a couple of years ago and was followed by a store clerk as if she thought we would steal something. I worked in retail for a long time, and while loss prevention does require you to keep an eye on people, it doesn't mean you should treat them like criminals.

Never been to Shuckums. Try Dusty's next time. Children are welcome there. It is a roadhouse, however, so depending on how protective you are you may want to go in without them and decide for yourself. I wouldn't take my grandbabies, toddlers, in there, but I will take my 17 yr old son. Happy hour is 2-6 and the oysters are very reasonable. I like the fried scallops and hubby like the wings. I was disappointed in the food at Margaritaville, but the atmosphere was great. I'd go there again just to enjoy a beer or a soda and the view. Sonny's is always awesome!

Try Long Beach Resort or Regency Towers. The staff have always been good to us at both places. As always, http://www.vrbo.com is the least expensive way to go!

Tom, I'm not sure what your pic has to do with this subject!
