    Default Capt. Ken

Are there any type restrictions on tourists coming in to PCB today or tomorrow? Our daughter and her family are coming down today and wanted to find out. I know Fay has been dumping a pile of rain behind her. Figured you would know if anybody would.

Bay County declares state of emergency

About 9 a.m. Friday morning, Bay County Commission Vice Chairman George Gainer signed a declaration of a local state of emergency for Bay County due to the anticipated effects of Tropical Storm Fay.

The declaration is necessary to recoup from the federal government funding associated with expenditures related to Tropical Storm Fay.

All Bay, Gulf and Liberty county libraries within the Northwest Florida Regional Library System will close Saturday and Sunday.

Bay County officials continue to prepare for the storm, as Public Works crews work to check all areas prone to flooding to ensure that all drainage systems in those areas are working at full capacity. Crews will be working through Sunday to respond to any blockages that may occur.
Any road closures caused by the storm will be reported to local media as soon as possible. To report drainage or road problems, please 784-4050.

Sandbags and other storm supplies are commercially available and are not provided by Bay County.

If its illegal to drink and drive, why do bars have parking lots?

Dude. I haven't even bought any canned goods. I'm not expecting anything interesting out of Fay at all. Maybe I should check the forecasts...

One thing you can count on down here is, no two storms are the same. Hopefully all we will get is some wind and a lot of rain. But if it stalls out on top of us, then we can take a beating for quite a while. Never forget the tornado's and water spouts that come off these things. I'm fueling up the generator at the house when I get home just in case we lose power.
Hmmm, think I'll leave the scooter at the shop this weekend and drive the truck. Ain't seen much that 4 wd diesel won't go thru when needed to.

They are currently predicting 39-73 mph winds when it comes across us tomorrow. So a full day of those winds will take some trees down along with some carports. If winds hit 50mph, they will close the bridges down to vehicle traffic.

Sure, come on down and bring your umbrellas. If ya can't swim, you can always eat and drink the weekend away.
