We're leaving tomorrow after work! We stay the night in White House TN, which is about a 4 hour drive from our house. That makes the next days drive about 8 hours. If I was 25 again, we'd be driving straight through, but we're too old to do that now. At least, my joints are, anyway!
I must say I'm getting pretty anxious. We have 2 other couples coming with us that have never been there before, so I hope they love it there as much as we do! One couple is from a burb of Detriot & they've had snow already, so they're totally ready to go!

I've been a long time lurker on the site and would love to meet you when you are at Schooners. I will be there to see my family for Thanksgiving and will be hanging out at Schooners most of the time. Look for the white beard and a Heineken in my hand sitting on "The Hill". I grew up in that bar and all the bartenders all know me. (Spent some time in Evansville also, built the Dopler Weather Radar there several years ago.) If you are still in town Friday... It's the locals party! It's usually a great time, and I'm sure you would be welcome! I know I'll be there.

Mrs. Peel, I get to come this year! Husband was watching the weather and gave the thumbs up on Monday so we will be down mid-morning on Thanksgiving.
That's cool that you are stopping in White House, I have family there.
Are you eating at the Boatyard Thursday? Since it's just me and my husband we will probably slide up to the bar around dinner time but I will email them over there to make sure that won't be a problem for us. We have to find somewhere to watch the Titans play. Does anyone know who will be open? Schooners is closed and Shuckum's won't open til 2p (We have a friend who already called for us). Couldn't think who else might be open during the day.

Mrs Peel, you are right, I did mention that we might come down for Thanksgiving but unfortunately, we aren't going to make it. Looks like we will be staying at home.

Glad to hear you're going to be there, pforkum2! Would the Boatyard have the Titans game on their TV at the bar? That would be a great place to watch it! We're going to be there around 2:30 on Thanksgiving to get the BIG meal over early & then watch football and graze the rest of the day.
Sorry you won't be there, gagirl. At least where you live, it'll be a lot warmer than Indiana on Thanksgiving!
