On New Years Eve, New York City drops the ‘Crystal Ball’ in Times Square and Atlanta drops the ‘Peach’. Now Panama City Beach will drop a ‘Beach Ball.’

The Bay County tourist development council is hoping to draw a large New Year's crowd for the inaugural beach-ball-drop at Pier Park.

A 148 ft tall crane with an 8-foot illuminated beach ball will descend to ring in the New Year!!

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is the sponsor and the festivities kick off at 6:30 pm, beginning with a street party and fireworks.
