    Default Let the thawing begin

Wow what a week for Sweet 2. I first lost power on Tues night, then got it back Wed afternoon, then lost it again Thurs afternoon. Sucks when your house temp is hovering at 40 degrees. Finally got power back late last night. Thought I was in heaven turned the heat way up and of course turned all the lights on. Neighbors across the street still w/o power as is many thousands of homes around the area. They still say just because you have power don't expect it to stay on... limbs still on lines etc. This is when you learn who your good neighbors really are.

Wannabe, I broke down yesterday morning and bought B/F a toy.... a generator. Only used it for one day but I told him I made the first major big purchase for our relocation to Florida. I don't care if I ever use the thing again at least I know I have one

50 degrees here now but expecting some snow tomorrow and cold once again. I don't care how much snow we get as long as we don't loose power. Oh wait I have a generator now... And of course I don't want the kind of snow that Coach gets. Really I have had enough snow and ice for one year.... I can't wait until I am done w/all this cold and snow and move to Florida. .......
When I grow up I want to be like tntsweet.
If we weren't all crazy we'd all go insane.

I'm with you on the generator. Like I said in an earlier post, I bought mine in 2000 and have only used it once in a weather emergency. Worth every penny, If I need it I know it is there and will run my whole house.

And ya'll up north think we are crazy for living down here and the hurricanes. I'll take the occasional hurricane anyday over freezing to death.

Gee, Sweet, I didn't realize you lost power again until Saturday. Man, I have been thanking many of stars and God too that we never did lose power and we only lost a few trees. My big evergreen is standing tall once again!!! Yes, the thaw has begun, I can see some grass and some pavement.

My husband went out and bought himself a toy....a chain saw to take care of the trees we lost. He use to have one. sold it, and wished he never had, so out he went and bought a new one. We talked about the generator, but we decided that since we had power we would let everyone that didn't have a chance at one. I believe that once I get back to work, that we will probably purchase one.

As you said.....let the thaw begin!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

We were out of power for three days. Trees and tree limbs down everywhere. There is still thousands of households in our county and surrounding counties still without power and will be for quite some time. So I feel lucky.

Well Wannabe & Sweet...finally happened, lost power but only for about 1 1/2 days. Went out to buy generator and while I was gone, it came back on. I'm so sick of this ice. I can take the snow, but this ice is horrid. Hope you gals stay warm and brace yourself for the next one.

Capt. I'd have to agree with you. I think I'd rather had an occasional hurricane rather than all this ice, but I think I speak for everyone. Why do you think we're all trying to get down there?

Ah, Ky Nurse, sorry to hear that. Glad it is back on. And yes, I think they are calling for us, not Sweet2 this time, more snow in our forecast. DANG!! Enough, huh? AT least, I think I heard snow only and some wind. No ice.

    Hang in there. Feeling better??
