Pier at Pier Park area----when will it be done?

I thought they said June 2009, but when I was there a few weeks ago, it looked far from being done. I didn't even see them working on it! How long will it be? What about the other pier also?

The restaurant is located near the Back Beach Road entrance at Pier Park.

Im near Anderson and Im wondering the same thing. Coming down in Sept and dont exspect to see the pier done. Ill probably end up going to Gulf Shores to fish from their new pier, hopefully it will be done by then. It cost twice as much so should be a heck of a pier.

Thankx Ga Girl. I want to eatr there and go to Dustyies too. Peobably hang out another day or two then on to Destyen to hang out on occolussa Island on the board walk. Want to go back to destin west and hang out at the remada bar there. They got a big rock in the middle of the swimming pool and they got a bar under the water fall a wet bar. soooo Kooweel...

According to the June newsletter from PCBeach.com, the grand re-opening is scheduled for the July 4th weekend.

Gulf Power is holding up the works with being late with the power transformer. All that is left is the handrails and lighting. It will be some time in July when it opens. If nothing else, the fireworks will be shot off the end of the pier. The county pier is running about 12 months behind the City Pier. Seems now they know what they are doing and appear to be able to move faster.

I hope it is finished when we go in July. My son loves fishing off the pier.
