I am reading a book entitled Twisted Justice about 4 people from Springfield who ran up on a marijuana smuggling operation at Sandy Creek & were murdedred by the smugglers. Do you know any history about that case?

I chose the road less traveled, now I don't know where the hell I am!
I don't want this to fall off the page before Capt Ken can see it.

Nothing personal about it other than it was major headlines back then. I think the boat was named Gunsmoke or something like that. The two couples just wandered up on the smuggling operation and was killed and I think sunk in a sinkhole somewhere close to Tallahassee.
Smuggling drugs use to be a major source of income here for some. There be lots of money in those square groupers. I forget which Ratfield got caught bringing it up the intracoastal and off loading into a barn. Even during the days of proabition, Tom Corley use to bring rum in from Cuba by the boatload
Old Captains never die, they just get a little dingy!!
If its illegal to drink and drive, why do bars have parking lots?
Thanks Capt. It happened in 1977. The bodys were discovered on August 7. I was there on vacation 2 weeks later but back then I didn't read or watch the news like I do now.

Ok, in 77 I would have been a cop with the beach police but still on the opposite side of the county from where that happened. I remember the trials lasted forever on that case and I think the boat was sunk shortly thereafter.

Thanks Capt, It was just a curosity question. I have only begun to read the book. It is interesting but I don't know how accurate it is.
