I remember it but I was too young to go to it. I have talked to several people who were there. That was a very long time ago....I think I was in 4th or 5th grade in school!

Yes, I went to Woodstock. I was 17 and my parents thought I was spending the week up in Indy with my friend at her older sister's house. Of course, when I didn't come home for 6 weeks.....
My husband's first wife went to Woodstock, too. What are the odds of that?
If it doesn't involve the beach, it isn't a real vacation.

Lordy, Mrs. Peel! That sounds like something I would have done. Bet it was a GREAT 6 weeks...hesitate to think what your parents reaction was when you got back. LOL I know I was responsible for putting some gray hairs on my parents heads. Karma is a b**ch... the "Wild Child" has put me through my paces as a parent. In my case, the Parent's Curse came true..."May you have a child just like you!"

Yeah, at the time they were shocked and appalled & said I was grounded until I was 35. Now, whenever the subject of Woodstock might come up in conversation, my mother proudly says "My daughter was there!"

It's amazing how time changes things. My parents were ready to send my brother to Military School because he grew his hair just past his shirt collar...not even shoulder length. Now my 86 year old father has a foot long ponytail...his hair is longer than mine. I guess he is letting his "Freak Flag" fly...go figure!

I was 18 fresh out of high school, still, I didn't tell my parents either, they thought I was in Panama City. I finally told them later.

Speaking of Woodstock, Richie Havens died yesterday.

We were just at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa last month and saw the guitar that he used at Woodstock.
