Cool Small Inexpensive Motels close to Schooners

Does anyone know of any inexpensive motels close to Schooners? I saw the Monterey Motel and the Aqua View Drive Inn on the Google Map but know nothing about them. The Motel doesn't have to be on the beach...just within walking distance. Any info would be appreciated!

I noticed both of those as well on this last trip, Linda. We drove around just to stake out some close, yet reasonable hotels for our Lobsterfest trip. I may check out Tripsmarter and see what kind of reviews they get. I do require a pool, though. Just in case of seaweed.

At the website I was at, the Monterey Hotel had several positive reviews. I guess they have been there forever. I prefer quaint, old fashion, Mom and Pop places to the large, new condos. Let me know what you find out!

Hey ya'll, on Bookit.com there is a small condo next to Schooners called Sunswept that is on the beach, has a pool and is offering Free Winetasting for 2 at Panama Ciy Beach Winery for only $75 a night. Looks cute inside. And I think just a little further down is a place called Nautical Watch that is offering the same at $75 also.

    Thumbs up

I used to stay at Sunswept as a kid. It's nice, but you have to walk across a large parking lot and through a creepy walkway to get to the beach. One time, I was walking through at night and went to go pet what I thought was a cat and it was actually a possum. It's clean and quiet though. I've stayed at Nautical Watch before as well. It's basically the same setup and a little closer to Schooners. I've done the wine tasting through Bookit too. It was fun and they give you a free bottle of wine at the end of the tour. You get a nice little buzz to go along with it.
