anybody know what kind of construction is going on on 65? We hit major traffic south of Nashville and then again north of Montgomery. I assume it was construction as we took detours as we were moving about 5mph. Hoping to avoid this heading back to Chicago.
You can't take it with you so you might as well spend it.

South of Nashville near Franklin is a road widening project but if you were creeping that slowly there must have been a wreck involved too. To avoid that coming back you could jump on 840E and take that over to I24W and when you get into Nashville pick up 65N depending on the time of day that you are coming thru. The traffic in Nashville is terrible but there are ways around it.

I don't know about Montgomery but would like to since we'll be heading down in a couple of weeks.

There is construction work on I-65 north of Prattville. I don't know exactly what they are doing. They are supposed to work at night so they won't hold up traffic.

We got hit again in 2 different spots. It does appear to be more accident cause for the slowdowns. One car was totally smashed in in the front. I'm assuming it had gone down and embankment as I didn't see another car.
Just short of a 2 hour delay on the way home.
Not sure what they call them down south, but here near Chicago they are called Gapper Delays.
One time the reason was just because a car was pulled over to the shoulder and people were out in the field.
The Gulf water was so beautiful last week and no shock when you first enter from the cold.

I thought it would be since it was such a mild winter, if you can even call it winter. The water temp is in the 70's already.
