If you guys go down, please post. I would love to meet you, and any other Forum fanatics down for the festivities. I gotta tell you that what cinched the deal for me coming down before our vacation was The Swingin' Medallions playing on Sunday night. Haven't seen them since I was a surfer girl at Folly Beach, SC. Have talked a sax-man friend of ours who lives in PCB to go as my date Sunday night. Should be a DOUBLE-SHOT of fun!

You're a good papa if you go see your son play in the band. I, too, marched in the HS band at all the football games on Friday nights (sans parents). Ah, those were good times. Would have been better, though, if my parents had come see me play. You're a good papa.

As bad as I want to be at LF this year.. I can't make it. My son is going into 8th grade and is one of a rare few 8th graders that get to be in the HS marching band. They have an away game that Friday night. I'm thinking I'll come down in late August and get my last fix of the warm weather season. Band and football games are obviously going to clash with my normal beach plans.

Glad to hear you're supporting your son's activities; though I would've expected no less from you! When our daughter was in marching band & choir, we saw the same 25-30 adults at the games, band competitions, concerts and teacher-parent conferences. Where were the parents for the rest of these kids? They can't all be working the evening shift.

Sorry I'm not going to get to meet you this year, but have fun when you go down in August. And enjoy supporting your son while you can. Those opportunities will pass you by much too quickly. And it's something he will remember always.
