What happened to all of the American flags?

My wife & I were in PCB for the week last week and I was out in the water just looking up and down the beach and I noticed that there was not one single American flag to be seen ANYWHERE.
None on top of ANY of the condos, not even at Spinnakar which has always had a very large flag.
I knew that I had to buy a flag to hang off of our condo balcony on 9-11.
I hung my flag on 9-11 and it was the only one that I saw the whole week.
We had our flag out all day and about 6:00 that evening one of the security guards told me that he appreciated it but that I would have to take it down as the condo does not allow anything to be hung from the balconies.
Even an American flag on 9-11?? I wasn't happy but I took it down.

My first thought was that maybe everyone took in their flags as Isaac was approaching, but it seems odd that the whole beach would have brain fade about putting them back out.
