New to posting here but have been lurking for years. Will be down July 5-12 and I am curious if someone could give a seaweed report. I just don't like to snorkel when the water is full of that slime.
    Thanks

This past weekend the water was mostly clear. It had spots of seaweed. It wasn't the slimey grass kind though. I'll be back down the week of the 5th myself.

Thanks for the info and welcome. Can't wait for our PCbeach vacation to enjoy a little sun, sand, suds, skin, seafood and some other things that start with an S.

So what's a typical Lobsterfest like? Is there a lot of food to try?

Beach Brian...I've never been able to stick around long enough for the Sunday feast, but Saturday is always a good time. They set up a stage on the beach where bands play throughout the day. They have games and activities for the kids and sand sculpture contests. One year, they went for the record for world's largest lobster roll. They serve lobster dishes on the beach and lobster dishes in the restaurant in addition to the regular menu. Just be prepared to get there early unless you are staying in walking distance. Parking is a beast.

We won't make Lobsterfest, but hopefully we'll make it in October.

I actually get a fall break this October, so I'll most likely bypass Lobsterfest and head down then. October is my favorite time to visit.
